If you are a fan of Western-style chain hotels, the city of Tenerife has several you can choose from including a pair of excellent Sheraton properties. The Sheraton Mencey is the nicer of the two and provides five star caliber service and amenities to its guests. As of May 2008, there is a renovation in progress, so contact the hotel directly to find out about things like noise, room availability, etc. With beautifully manicured gardens and a classic Greek motif, the Sheraton Mencey is one of the best resorts in Tenerife.
Sheraton Mencey Hotel Rooms
This is a large hotel property that sports almost 300 rooms, but surprisingly, the attention to detail here is excellent. All rooms come with excellent views of either the gardens or of the city. All rooms come with high ceilings, which give the impression right away that you’re staying some place special. Gold and marble are the order of the day here, adding to the feeling that you’re staying amongst royalty. Furnishings are antique, but the rooms have a fresh, new feel to them. There is a surprising amount of wardrobe space available to guests here which is a bit surprising when you consider the sheer number of rooms.Sheraton Mencey Hotel Restaurants & Bars
There are two main restaurants here and a snack bar to satisfy the hunger of the many guests who stay here. The day often begins with a complementary breakfast buffet that, as you can imagine, is usually quite busy. Los Menceyes Restaurant is a semi-formal dining experience that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but it is often very busy so arriving early or a bit late is a good idea. The menu here is a good cross section of local favorites and international standards. Snack Bar Ifara is also a busy spot that serves up delicious drink creations as well as light sandwiches and snacks throughout the day. Finally, Iballa Bar is essentially an inside version of the snack bar that features pub fare until late in the evening.Sheraton Mencey Hotel Facilities

James Garner from BedfordshireThis is THE place to stay in Santa Cruz. We stayed here for a couple of nights while holidaying in the south, just to experience the city and I have to say it's a beautiful hotel with excellent rooms. If you get the chance to stay in Santa Cruz, make sure you stay here.
