O.M.G. If you're looking for complete and utter mayhem, look no further as Tenerife Carnival comes to town yet again. The Carnival in Tenerife, 2010, takes the theme of 'The History of Carnival' which we guess involves digging out all the old themes and mushing them up into one. I guess it saves on buying a new costume.

Anyway, if you're not aquainted with the Carnival Tenerife style you're in for a shock. Offices close, shops are boarded up and all the public drunk and disorderly offences are overlooked. (well, most anyway!). So don your most outrageous togs and join the melee of one of the world's biggest street parties in Santa Cruz.

So far, all we know is the following, but we'll be updating with more specifics nearer the time:

10th February: Gala for the Election of the 2010 Carnival Queen.

12th February: Opening Parade.

16th February: "Coso" The closing of the Carnival (4pm)

17th February: Burial of the Sardine.

21st February: Piñata Sunday
