Los Roques Overview

Los abrigos is a fishing village famed for its seafood restaurants, and to be perfectly honest, if you're looking for fresh fish in Tenerife, you can't go wrong with any of the restaurants in this tiny harbour. However, Los Roques certainly stands out as the star. Yes, it might be slightly more expensive than the others... actually, a lot more expensive than the others, but as with anything, you get what you pay for. And you get a lot at Los Roques.
WIth a quayside setting, sunset is the ideal time to grab a terrace table and sip on a glass of cold white and order a plate of fish fresh from the Atlantic. Like all of the restaurants here, Los Roques has its own fishing boat which makes daily forays out to sea to bring back the freshest of the fresh. And it shows. You'll be hard pressed to find a restaurant serving as high quality seafood in such classy servings anywhere in the Canary Islands. Perhaps even Europe!
Lobster stew is highly recommended as a starter (€19). Pan-fried dorada with yucca chips and salad leaves is one of the more popular main dishes (€18). If you want to splash the cash a little farther, Los Roques do a nice line in caviar. However, even if you or one of your party is not a fish fan, excellent pasta and meat dishes are also available.
Without question it would be pure sacrilege to leave Tenerife without visiting the island's star seafood restaurant. If you're going to have one big foodie night, for gawd's sake make it here.

A Second Great Visit Caroline from Cork

    Caroline Bourke from Cork

I arrived back from Tenerife last night. 7 of us went to Los Rocques for our 'Gourmet Night'. We loved it last year and were delighted to be heading back again. With a group of 7, Peter asks if we could limit our choices to about 3 starters and 3 Mains, this can be a bit tricky and takes a bit of negotiation!! But we were not disappointed, we declined the Cocktail list this time as we had gone for a drink in the newly opened La Cueva. This was a charming bar in the village and we sipped our drink in the Cave to the sound of the waves. Peter was so helpful to us as none of the wines were familiar to us. We were all passionate about the food and I think he enjoyed our enthusiasm!! It was a great night, more expensive, especially as we needed taxis to take us there and back from Los Cristianos, but we think that we are worth it!!

    Simon Harris from England

Great food, good service, and a lovely atmosphere. Only drawback was the price, really is overpriced, but what price do you put on good service?

    First Class

    Sita Aley from London

Los Roques is a gem. Top quality food and service, these guys know everything about their food and wines, fab cocktails and music. For starters I had rabbit and foie gras terrine - declicious and for main ostrich with a goats cheese salad that is actually a starter, but the opportunity to have a leaf salad was too good to miss - most Tenerife restaurants serve everything with chips! Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough, surely the best on Tenerife - I'll be back.

Excellent seafood in a beautiful setting. We watched the sun go down behind La Gomera. A perfect end to a great meal.

    Bit pricey.

    Martin Leigh from Oldham

I've been to this restaurant twice now and while I have to say the food and service is second to none, the cost is a bit over the top. For a fancy meal I'd say give it a go, but it's not for those looking for everyday nosh.
