I arrived back from Tenerife last night. 7 of us went to Los Rocques for our 'Gourmet Night'. We loved it last year and were delighted to be heading back again. With a group of 7, Peter asks if we could limit our choices to about 3 starters and 3 Mains, this can be a bit tricky and takes a bit of negotiation!! But we were not disappointed, we declined the Cocktail list this time as we had gone for a drink in the newly opened La Cueva. This was a charming bar in the village and we sipped our drink in the Cave to the sound of the waves. Peter was so helpful to us as none of the wines were familiar to us. We were all passionate about the food and I think he enjoyed our enthusiasm!! It was a great night, more expensive, especially as we needed taxis to take us there and back from Los Cristianos, but we think that we are worth it!!
Great food, good service, and a lovely atmosphere. Only drawback was the price, really is overpriced, but what price do you put on good service?
Los Roques is a gem. Top quality food and service, these guys know everything about their food and wines, fab cocktails and music. For starters I had rabbit and foie gras terrine - declicious and for main ostrich with a goats cheese salad that is actually a starter, but the opportunity to have a leaf salad was too good to miss - most Tenerife restaurants serve everything with chips! Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough, surely the best on Tenerife - I'll be back.
Excellent seafood in a beautiful setting. We watched the sun go down behind La Gomera. A perfect end to a great meal.
I've been to this restaurant twice now and while I have to say the food and service is second to none, the cost is a bit over the top. For a fancy meal I'd say give it a go, but it's not for those looking for everyday nosh.
