If you fancy exploring that big chunk of rock off the southwest coast of Tenerife, you’ll be glad to know that a number of ferry companies can whisk you to La Gomera before you can say ‘land ahoy’.
The large, modern fast catamarans traverse the 22 kilometre stretch of water between Los Cristianos and La Gomera in little over half an hour. Slower versions take up to two hours to glide across the water.
In addition to La Gomera, you can also reach La Palma and El Hierro directly from the Los Cristianos port; or from Santa Cruz in the north - Fuerteventura and Lanzarote (both via Gran Canaria), La Palma and also Cadiz in the mainland (two-day sail).
