Sometimes, you're thousands of miles from the UK, and you just need that taste of home. So what do you do? Go for an Indian, of course. And there aren't many on the island that better the imaginatively named 'The Indian Restaurant'. Following the success of their Indian Restaurant in Mallorca, Jan and Shaun from Kent decided to transplant the magic formula (and the chef) to Tenerife.
They say good things come in small packages. This restaurant is no exception. Small, intimate and child-friendly, The Indian Restaurant has built up a worthy reputation in the south of Tenerife for zingy Punjabi dishes. Chef's specials include the poetic-sounding Murgi Mango Curry and the not so poetic Spinach and Cheese Curry. Each to their own! For kids and those with less exotic tastes, a number of simpler meals are on the menu.
Open day and night, a special lunchtime deal means you can have a choice of starter and choice of main meal for €7.50 - not bad business in anybody's books. If you like Indian food - and let's face it, not many don't - you could do a lot worse than picking up a pappadom at The Indian Restaurant. Parties can be accommodated, and special occasion celebrations welcome. Curry for a christening do? And why not!
